Laakam

Tontine management app

Manage your savings group, even without an internet connection

Laakam is a modular mobile app for running rotating savings groups (tontines): rotation, loans, mutual aid, auctions and collective investment — built to work offline first.

Why Laakam

Offline first

Every feature stays available without a network: members' devices sync directly with each other, with an automatic switch to the cloud once a connection is available.

Modular

Turn on only the modules your group needs — rotation, savings, loans, auctions, mutual aid, investment, voting — and combine them freely.

Roles and permissions

Each board member (president, treasurer, secretary...) gets rights matched to their role, configurable by the group's administrator.

Protected data

Your financial data stays encrypted on your device and is only visible to people authorized to see it, based on their role in the group.

Features

Every module can be turned on independently, group by group.

Rotation

The common pot is distributed in turn according to a defined order (draw, seniority, declared need).

Loans

Members can borrow from the group's funds with a scheduled repayment plan, configurable guarantees and approval rules.

Auctions

The turn to receive the payout goes to the member who bids the most, for the benefit of the group.

Mutual aid

A solidarity fund for life events (health, death, birth...), triggered by a declaration and collective approval.

Investment

Pool funds for a collective project, with return tracking and profit sharing.

Voting

Collective decisions (simple majority, qualified majority, unanimity) for any question that needs group agreement.

Documents

Share official documents — bylaws, meeting minutes, receipts — with a simple read acknowledgement.

Chat

Group discussion between members, with built-in moderation.

Accounting

A general ledger and transaction export for transparent financial tracking.

Risk management

A risk score per member and per group, to anticipate late payments or repayments.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need internet to use Laakam?
No. Laakam is built to work offline first: members' devices exchange information directly with each other, with an automatic switch to the cloud once a connection is available.
What types of savings groups does Laakam support?
Rotation, savings, auctions, mutual aid, investment, loans/credit — or a combination of these modules within the same group.
Who can see my financial information?
Only people authorized based on their role can view your data: you, and your group's board according to the rights it has been granted. Each group configures its own access rules.
What happens if I lose my phone or switch to a new one?
You can generate a replacement code from your old device before switching to a new one. If your device is lost or stolen, you can report it — your group's board then validates your new device.
Can I belong to more than one savings group?
Yes, the same device can be a member of several groups, each with its own role and its own rules.
Is the app available right now?
Laakam is currently in development. This page will be updated as soon as the app becomes available.
